KPwBI Maluku Province Business Activity Survey – Bank Indonesia, March 2016 – December 2023, in Maluku Province.  

The survey was conducted quarterly with the respondents from different business companies. This survey was carried out every quarter by Bank Indonesia to find out indications of economic developments in the real sector. 

KPwBI Maluku Province Consumer Survey – Bank Indonesia, 2016 – present, in Maluku Province.  

The survey is conducted every month with 203 household respondents. Knowing the development of consumer confidence levels, consumer expectations regarding prices of goods/services and the condition of consumer financial stability. The aim of this survey is to determine the development of consumer confidence levels, consumer expectations regarding prices of goods/services and the condition of consumer financial stability. 

Residential Property Price Survey (SHPR) – Bank Indonesia, 2018 – present, KPW BI East Java Province.  

The survey is conducted every quarterly with property company respondents. The aim of this survey is to obtain early information regarding residential property developments to support the implementation of Bank Indonesia’s duties in determining and implementing monetary and macro prudential policies, through improving data quality. 

KPwBI West Papua Business Activity Survey – Bank Indonesia, March 2022 – December 2023, in West Papua.   

The survey was conducted quarterly with the respondents from different business companies with 80 respondents. This survey was carried out every quarter by Bank Indonesia to find out indications of economic developments in the real sector.  

Survey of Domestic Tourist Preferences during the Adaptation to New Habits, January 2021 KPW Bank Indonesia East Java Province. 

This survey aims to obtain updated preferences from domestic tourists towards Indonesian tourism destinations, identify the level of public knowledge regarding Cleanliness, Health, Safety and Environment Sustainability (CHSE) certification, as well as obtain information related to marketing needs and desired facilities. The survey was conducted in the city of Surabaya with a target of 100 respondents, who were divided into several criteria, the age group over 20 years and had an income, domiciled in the city of Surabaya, and an income of more than IDR 5,000,000/month. 

Cash-based Intervention to Promote Livelihood Opportunities: Value-chain and Entrepreneurship Development Programme, Yayasan Care Peduli Jakarta (Baseline-Endline), February – June 2021, in Kabupaten Sukabumi and Purwakarta.  

The assignment occurred in two data collection schemes, i..e: baseline and endline and took place in Kabupaten Sukabumi dan Purwakarta. Specific objectives of the study are (i) to document and measure the improvements in the women’s lives and their families from the interventions received; (ii) to document and analyze how are the existing gender roles, structures and relations for both women and men in the household, community level and in EKATA groups serve as enablers and/or barriers to gender equality, particularly with respect to income generation, access to cash, market, credit, prior and during COVID 19; (iii) to understand trends of GBV-related risks and safety concerns before and during COVID 19, identify vulnerability and mitigating factors; (iv) to assess pre-existing knowledge, attitude and practice of different target groups (sewing, EKATA non-sewing groups, marketers, health ambassador, partners/husbands) towards self-employment/business, marketing, COVID prevention, gender equality, and GBV risks and preventions; and (v) to identify gaps and opportunities/recommendations and strategy that are able to increase gender-responsiveness of the Cash for Work, food voucher or CVA interventions,  and COVID 19 prevention promotions.

The assignment employed quantitative and qualitative methods through surveys and key informant interviews (KIIs) to respondents of EKATA and sewing members (household surveys), village officials, and husband of EKATAmembers. 

Impact Evaluation of KUR Program – A Follow-up Survey, the World Bank, September 2020 – February 2021.  

The study aimed to evaluate the impact of the Kredit Usaha Rakyat (KUR) program and provide the World Bank with data regarding these research questions, and they are (i) Is KUR reaching its target population and objectives; (ii) How are KUR debtors and non-borrowers coping with the COVID-19 pandemic; and (iii) How can data quality and reporting consistency across districts be improved. The survey applied both quantitative and qualitative methods over surveys and key informant interviews (KIIs) addressed KUR Program beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries. The survey is designed as national and CAPI surveys and interviews were carried out over phone calls. The instruments were developed in accordance with the target respondents, and they are: module A (KUR Program beneficiaries); Module B (Non-KUR Program beneficiaries, and Module C (Non-KUR applicants).  

KPwBI Jember Consumer Survey – Bank Indonesia, 2017 – 2020, in Jember and Banyuwangi districts.  

This survey aimed to determine the development of consumer confidence levels, consumer expectations regarding prices of goods/services and the condition of consumer financial stability. The survey was conducted every month with 200 household respondents. Knowing the development of consumer confidence levels, consumer expectations regarding prices of goods/services and the condition of consumer financial stability.   

 

Women Livelihood & Surveillance: Baseline Study on Cinnamon Farmers Kabupaten Kerinci – Indonesia, Yayasan Care Peduli, October – December 2020.

The baseline study aims to collect data on the existing condition of the smallholder farmers in the selected locations to enable McCormick understanding the role of women in the McCormick supply chain and the challenges faced in their lives and households. The preliminary findings from the baseline study are expected to demonstrate the needs and challenges faced by women farmers across McCormick’s supply chain. The baseline study 2020 in Indonesia, McCormick focused on the cinnamon commodity. The study employed quantitative and qualitative data collection methods through surveys, key informant interviews, and focus group discussions. The locations were three selected villages in Kabupaten Kerinci, Jambi, i.e.: Desa Selampaung and Desa Masgo (Kecamatan Gunung Raya), and Desa Sungai Betung Mudik (Kecamatan Gunung Kerinci).  

Post-Covid 19 Domestic Tourist Preference Survey, November 2020 Bank Indonesia KPW East Java Province. 

This survey aims to determine the preferences of domestic tourists towards tourism destinations in Indonesia, identify tourist destinations and types of tourism chosen as well as travel plans, and obtain information regarding marketing needs and desired facilities. The survey was conducted in the city of Surabaya with a target of 100 respondents, who were divided into several criteria, the age group over 20 years and already had an income, domiciled in the city of Surabaya, and an income of more than IDR 5,000,000/month. 

KPwBI Jember Business Activity Survey – Bank Indonesia, March 2018 – December 2019, in Jember.   

The survey was conducted quarterly with the respondents from different business companies. This survey was carried out every quarter by Bank Indonesia to find out indications of economic developments in the real sector. The total respondent of the study was 100 business companies. 

Employer Data Collection Survey (CAPI Survey), Mitra Kunci – DAI – USAID, 2017. 

Employer Survey Data Collection – a quantitative survey – conducted to Firms’ on various business sector and scale. The survey was carried out in the following provinces and districts: East Java (Surabaya Municipality and Greater Malang), Central Java (Kota Semarang, Kabupaten Boyolali, and Kabupaten Demak), West Java (Greater Sukabumi), and Papua (Jayapura Municipality, Kabupaten Jayapura), and West Papua (Greater Sorong).

The aim of this survey was to determine the development of consumer confidence levels, consumer expectations regarding prices of goods/services and the condition of consumer financial stability. The survey was conducted monthly with 500 household respondents. Knowing the development of consumer confidence levels, consumer expectations regarding prices of goods/services and the condition of consumer financial stability.

Outbound Survey, September – October 2016, Bank Indonesia KPW East Java Province.

This survey aims to obtain data/information on average national tourism expenditure (Wisatawan Nasional) and types of expenditure as input in policy formulation as well as updating travel outflow data in the Indonesian Balance of Payments statistics. Respondents to the 2016 Outbound Survey were national tourists who visited abroad for purposes other than work or to perform the Hajj/Umrah at four (4) exits/arrival points, one of which was at Juanda Airport. The survey respondents were 400 tourists.

Consulting Services for Financial Inclusion Scoping Mission: Promoting Rural Income through Support for Markets in Agriculture at Household and Community Levels, AIP-PRISMA, 2015.

The study aimed to understand more regarding farmers’ information sources, PRISMA conducted the survey regarding this topic in three provinces namely East Java, West Nusa Tenggara, and East Nusa Tenggara. This study involved a total of 1,640 respondents or approximately 550 respondents per province.

Non-State Actors and Local Authorities in Development – Actions in Indonesia: Strengthening the Local Chamber of Commerce in Improving Investment and Trade Environment in Eastern Indonesia through the Establishment of the Centre for Investment and Trade Advisory (CITRA), European Union, April 2013 – March 2016.

The study took place in six provinces of Indonesia incluluding South Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, South Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, West Nusa Tenggara, and Maluku. The study had work packages 1 to 4 and engaged provincial and district Governments, local private sectors, women and youth business, domestic and international investors, and local universities.  

Retail Sales Survey, January 2013-December 2014, Bank Indonesia KPw East Java.

This survey aims to collect information that reflects trends in public spending (consumption spending) through sales at the retail level and public estimates of movements in the inflation rate. This survey could also be used to find out initial indications of developments in consumption from the demand side and movements in the inflation rate. The number of respondents in the survey was 70 respondents.

KPwBI West Nusa Tenggara Business Activity Survey – Bank Indonesia, March 2012 – December 2014, in Lombok.

The survey was conducted quarterly with the respondents from different business companies with 60 respondents. This survey was carried out quarterly by Bank Indonesia to find out indications of economic developments in the real sector.

Quick Survey “Construction and Property Sector Performance Analysis”, Bank Indonesia KPw East Java, 2013.

This survey aims to determine developments in the construction and property sector performance in 2012, determined company responses regarding factors influencing property sector performance in 2013, and determine the implications of the global economic slowdown, increases in city minimum wages (UMK), electricity tariffs (TTL), industrial gas and cigarette excise rates in 2013 on the performance prospects of the property sector.

The Consulting Firm for Conducting Training for BNP2TKI, BP3TKI, and relevant Banking institutions on Financial Literacy Training, The World Bank, March 2011 – April 2012.

The World Bank supported by BNP2TKI (National Board for Placement and Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers) and REDI (Regional Economic Development Institute) conducted training of trainers (TOT) of “Financial Literacy Training for Migrant Worker Family” to BP3TKI instructors. The TOT was conducted in 2 phases for BP3TKI instructors at 19 regions in Indonesia: the first was held on March 29 – April 1, 2011, while the second was on April 5 – 8, 2011 at Santika Premiere Hotel, Jakarta. The TOT of Financial Literacy Training for Migrant Worker Family is an in-house training activity for BP3TKI instructors to be capable of performing financial literacy training for migrant workers and their families. The TOT aims to provide skills for BP3TKI instructors to afford performing financial literacy training as well as leading on general guidance of training implementation (module) and increasing skills for BP3TKI instructors to afford delivering materials of financial literacy training implementing participatory interactive method as well as guiding on manual book for trainer of financial literacy training for migrant worker family (module).

Survey on Pilot Financial Literacy Training and Provision of Financial Literacy training for Migrant Workers and Their Families, The World Bank, March 2010 – January 2012.

Two main activities were carried out in this assignment of Survey on Pilot Financial Literacy Training and Provision of Financial Literacy Training for Migrant Workers and Their Families and Its Monitoring. First was providing Financial Literacy Training to Migrant Worker and Its Family; and second was baseline survey to Migrant Worker Family. The training aims to provide financial literacy training to Migrant Worker (MW) and/or their families which were grouped into 4 treatments. Training materials were about Financial Management, Introduction to Banking service, Saving, Money Transfer, Loan, and Insurance. The assignment took place in East Java Province in two selected districts, i.e.: Kabupaten Blitar and Greater Malang.

Study of the Implementation of Kredit Usaha Rakyat – KUR (People’s Business Credit), The World Bank, September 2009 – January 2010.

The KUR program aims to increase access to credit by encouraging banks to provide credit for cooperatives and MSMEs that run feasible businesses but are currently unbanked. KUR credit particularly targets those cooperatives and MSMEs which have never received credit from banks. The study focuses on (i) or KUR participating banks and guarantee companies; primarily focusing on the program management and deliverables; and (ii) for KUR beneficiaries: primarily focusing on reaching out KUR target group and the impact of the KUR program.

Study on Banking Competitiveness in the Microcredit Market in East Java, Bank Indonesia KPw East Java, September – October 2010.

The survey was carried out by collecting primary data on 282 respondents, consisting of 72 bank respondents and 210 bank customer respondents.

Survey of the Impact of the Global Financial Crisis on Large/Medium Enterprises, Bank Indonesia KPw East Java, May – June 2009.

The survey was carried out by collecting primary data on 65 respondents.

East Java Growth Diagnostics, The World Bank, January – June 2009.

The study attempts to understand better what is constraining higher growth and investment in East Java and through this provide support and input to the provincial and district governments to enhance regional economic performance. The study provided input for central government engagement on economic development in the region and part of a broader plan on regional development. The findings could be useful not only for East Java, but also for other regions in Indonesia that are not performing their role as regional growth poles. A team of researchers from university or research institute in East Java will be mobilized to take lead in preparing the East Java Growth Diagnostic report.   

 

The Household Survey on Access to Financial Services, The World Bank, June 2007 – June 2008

The main objectives of the survey are to identify and understand the existing degree and resources of financial access for Indonesian household and the existing constraints in accessing financial services. The project was divided into 2 Batches. Batch I started in June 2007 and was completed in August 2007 in 3 provinces; while Batch 2 started in October 2007 and was completed in January 2008 in 10 provinces. The survey team interviewed 3,360 households and 448 heads of village.

The Household Survey on Access to Financial Services in Java and Nusa Tenggara for Migrant Workers and Their Families at Household, and Community Levels, The World Bank – ANTARA, June – October 2008.

The survey aims to identify migrant workers’ financial needs/difficulties to access financial services and the level of their financial literacy. REDI was assigned to carry out all relevant activities in the preparation and implementation phases. REDI also did report writing of the survey results.

The household survey was carried out in three provinces, i.e.: East Java (Kabupaten Gresik and Kabupaten Malang), West Nusa Tenggara (Kabupaten Lombok and Sumbawa), and East Nusa Tenggara (Kabupaten Kupang, Kota Kupang, Kabupaten Flores Timur, Kabupaten Lembata, Kabupaten Sumba Barat, and Kabupaten Sumba Barat Daya). The total respondents surveyed were 2,700 respondents.

 

Study on Mapping the Profile of Rural Banks (BPR) in the Context of Preparing BPR Industry Stratification, Bank Indonesia KPw East Java, May – June 2008.

This survey aims to map the BPR profile in the context of preparing the stratification of the Rural Bank (BPR) industry. The survey was carried out by collecting primary data regarding the profile and characteristics of BPRs and the problems they face. The number of respondents to the survey was 175 respondents.
